William was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and moved to Charleston in 1998. He has degrees from the University of Colorado and University of South Carolina School of Law.

William is admitted to practice law in all state courts in South Carolina.

Prior to joining the Smith Closser, William worked at the Carroll Law Firm where he focused his practice Criminal and DUI defense.

William is a member of the South Carolina Bar, Charleston County Bar, and both the National and South Carolina Associations of Criminal Defense Lawyers, as well as the Charleston County Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He is also a member of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association.

William is also a Qualified Civil Mediator and has completed the NHTSA DWI Detection & Standardized Field Sobriety Testing Training Program.

When not in the office, William enjoys spending time with his friends and family, including his wife Amanda, their son Cooper, and dog Clyde.
